The G of limited but necessary tasks that need to be performed on your car on a frequent basis can soon grow; why not save yourself some money by finding out how to do them yourself. Much of what is needed can be performed by an untrained person without the need to resort to a over priced mechanic. The wiper blades is no exception to this rule and it to could benefit from regular inspections and maintenance. Other things requiring a look at are fluid levels, washer levels, oils, brakes, coolant, spark plugs, belts, tyre pressures and hoses, all of these things can be observed relatively easily. The modern motor is not quite what it used to be, back in the day all the parts were heavily standardised but now everything is custom made for that one specific model of motor. In fact with many styles you can’t even get into the engine without special tools and risk voiding your agreement. One thing remains the same though and that’s the wiper blades aplliance, you can still fidget with your own wiper blades as much as you like. The conventional wiper blades is an often unseen aspect of car maintenance, without it you would not be able to see good and would be a menace to yourself and others on the roads.

If you are caught by the police using a motor vehicle without reasonable windscreen wipers you should expect to get a big fine and if you are responsible for an crash you could even face jail time. Having inadequate windscreen wipers can even fail you your MOT so giving them a quick once over is well worth your time and attention. Many factors will predict the frequency with which you perform this task, if they are manufactured of rubber you will need to switch them around once every six months. If you live in an harsh environment such as the arctic, the desert or somewhere very wet you may need to switch them much more often. Things like salt, ultra violet and ozone are quite bad for the rubber in your windscreen wipers and other car bits, so it’s is vital for you to check and switch them on a regular basis. If you live by the sea this advice will be even more pertinent as there are extremely high levels of ozone blown in from off coast, sunlight refracted from the sand and salt from the ocean in the area and can cause problems with your cars internal bits and windscreen wipers.

If you buy some wipers made from silicone the burnout time is increased exponentially, silicone is a very strong tough material and as such will last for much longer volumes of time, in any conditions. If you are looking for the ultimate wipers then this is it, silicone can contest high and low temperatures and will not corrode in contact with the elements like the comparable rubber wipers. Buy the right size for your motor and lift up the arms away from the windscreen, slide out the old wipers and force in the new ones and your done.
