Children love creating things on their own, and are highly amazed by their creations. A great fun filled activity that you and your children could try out is Puppet making!

Making a puppet is real fun, and they can be made using a variety of options and in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some of the most common and famous designs for puppets are animal puppets, monster puppets, and people puppets, etc. The simplest kind of puppets can be made by using a sock as a base, and are thus called sock puppets.

To make a sock puppet you will need:
socks of any designs or color
yarn and other fabric pieces
colored markers
a pair of scissors
glue
paper
waxed paper
(The puppet can be decorated with colored button and goggles after its completion as well if you wish)

Start by cutting the fabric pieces into hair, clothing, and other add-ons for your puppet. Next, scrunch up the paper and waxed paper, and stuff it inside the sock you are using as the base of the puppet. After you have stuffed the sock enough using scrunched paper, start adding the features such as eyes, hairs and lips on your puppet. Last, finish off with additional decorative features to “clothe” your puppet with.

There you have it! One simple way to make a puppet that will provide hours of fun for your child.
