Making play dough is an easy task, and children of younger ages enjoy doing it.

Here is what you will need to get started:
3 cups of flour
1.5 cup of salt
6 tea spoon cream of tartar
oil (about 3 tablespoons)
3 cups of water

Once you have your ingredients together, you can start by dissolving the salt in the water. After that, mix all the remaining ingredients in a large bowl, and add the mixture of salt and water over it. Place the bowl on medium heat and constantly stir it. Remove the bowl from the heat when you see the formation of balls moving away from the sides. Next, knead the dough mixture for about 5 to 6 minutes or until it matches the texture of play dough.

That’s it!

The play dough made from this recipe can be used up till three months if stored in air tight containers. After a couple of days however, it may dry out, so it is advisable that you add a little amount of water and knead it before you are all set to let your children play it and have fun.
